The title of this project was “Mass Production of Radiation Shields and Solar Electro-Magnetospheres In Situ”. Acute and chronic exposure to radiation can increase risks to astronaut health and well-being. The proposed solution is a cost-effective pre-walk robotic mission that autonomously fabricates radiation shield components for generating localized magnetospheres in order to deflect cosmic radiation and enhance the well-being of astronauts and biological habitability on Mars.
